Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa – Department of Road Infrastructure and Territorial Strategy
Description
The Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa governs and administers the province and, led by a President elected by the General Assembly, is responsible for implementing government legislation. The General Assembly serves as the province’s highest representative and participatory body and the Council holds key competences as a provincial institution, notably in finance, economic development, roads, and social policies. The Department of Road Infrastructure and Territorial Strategy focuses on planning, constructing, maintaining, and managing Gipuzkoa’s road network.
Role and Key Contribution to the Project
The Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa will participate in the testing phase of the iEXODDUS project, where developments made by other consortium partners will be tested in real-world scenarios. To support this, the Provincial Council will make Gipuzkoa’s roads and their digital infrastructure available to the project through its Gipuzkoa Living Lab initiative, aimed at preparing its roads for the mobility of the future.
